GIVING THANKS

We begin the day in thanks

And end our day the same

Remembering gratitude

In the moments in between

Knowing that each day is a

Gift to open with joy and anticipation

Because the Creator of all is inside us

Inspiring us and lighting our way

Bringing peace to our hearts

Giving us meaningful work to do

And the will, intelligence

And wisdom to do it

“Peace. be still” said the psalmist

Who knew the way to joy

Is knowing God in all

People and all things

We give thanks that we have a life

We give thanks that we have a mind to think

Legs to walk, eyes to see, air to breathe

And millions of other gifts at our fingertips

In the small and everyday joys

And the natural beauty of our world

We create a fulfilled life

Our mind finds peace when we close our eyes at night

Life is in the daily details and not the grand events

Joy and serenity come with knowing

Our own value, our innate

And in loving service to others our heart finds rest
