GOD’S PRECIOUS GIFT

On this beautiful Mother’s Day, I feel thankful for all the women in my life who have given selflessly and lovingly over and over again to me and to their families. Whether or not you gave birth to someone, you have, with your very presence, been an inspiration and a loving touch of tenderness and source of strength for others. You blessed their lives with kindness, with courage and hope. You provided celebration in happy moments and brought grace and comfort in times of difficulty, sorrow or confusion.

You have lifted up others over and over again, selflessly, tirelessly. And in so doing, you have made this world a better place. I salute all of you: dear nieces, cousins, friends, the beautiful congregation of my church, neighbors, every wonderful woman on the face of the planet, and all my loved ones who have gone before: my mom, dear aunts and cousins now gone on into Spirit. God has worked wonders in and through each of you.

Proverbs 31:25-31 eloquently states:

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ ”

May God keep you safe, give you peace and a life as beautiful as you have made others’ lives.
